The Leaven of the Pharisees
I don’t often quote from the Bible. In fact, this is a first. And possibly a last. Nonetheless, a friend sent me a quote I thought was particularly applicable, from Luke 12:2-3:
“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. What you have whispered to someone behind closed doors will be shouted from the rooftops.”
Of course, Jesus had nothing good to say about the Pharisees, whom he considered to be self-righteous rule-followers. The word “pharisee” has thus come into common usage to describe a hypocritical and arrogant person who places the letter of the law above its spirit. And leaven, or yeast, is used metaphorically as an element that produces an altering or transforming influence. Something that might “puff someone up.”
Well, we have our own arrogant hypocrites in the form of the Church of Scientology and its OSA minions, including our favorite puffed-up spokesperson, Tommy Davis.
They believe they can continue to deny, continue to lie. “There is no disconnection,” says Tommy Davis, while every Scientologist knows he’s lying and the internet is flooded with stories of families destroyed by the Church. “No Sea Org Member has ever been harassed,” says Tommy Davis, while horrific stories of beatings, threats, abuses, extortion, sleep deprivation, RPF labor camps are all over the internet – and more being released every day. “No, we don’t pressure women to have abortions,” says Tommy, as stories of forced abortions flood out.
Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
People aren’t dumb. They can read. They can see what’s going on. The Church thinks everything will be OK as long as they just keep insisting that the obvious isn’t true, that what happened didn’t happen. They live in a fantasy world where they believe they can impose their reality on people just by repetition. They believe that they can “handle” story after story after story with just a flat denial. Do they actually think people are saying “Oh, if the Church of Scientology says it’s a lie, then it must be a lie”? What universe are they living in?
Their credibility, if they ever had any, is shot to hell. As more and more people come out and tell their stories, it is obvious to even the most casual observer that the Church of Scientology is an abusive, corrupt, lying organization.
So that’s my message to David Miscavige: “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. What you have whispered to someone behind closed doors will be shouted from the rooftops.”
You may think you have secrets that will never be known. They will. You may think you can get away with anything. You can’t. You may think you can treat people any way you want to. You can’t. You may think you can do anything to Scientologists and they’ll just shut up and take it. They won’t. You may think you can just continue to extort and rake in money and spend it any way you like. You can’t. You think staff and public will always be under your thumb. They won’t be.
Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees.

Leaving Scientology 
Whether he has articulated it to himself or not, I suspect DM would prefer a COS 1/10th or 1/100th its peak size, provided it was populated with a bunch of DM-believers rather than have a larger, more gentle COS as espoused by the “independents.” It keeps him in power. And nice clothes. And hair only money can buy. (“It makes you look so…tall sir!”)
So the misrepresentations of Tommy Davis…the COS doesn’t care. His audience are those dwindling faithful who, despite the obvious inconguity between what they hear with what they have personally witnessed, have no ability left to replace Tommy’s “truths” with conclusions of their own.
Which is why I keep waiting for the independents to storm the walls of their former Orgs. That is when the biggest change in the COS’s future will finally happen.
With each member suckered in; there becomes another Whistle Blower.
With each camera documenting; the truth is displayed.
With both of these things; another person is informed.
I like beer.
More and more people are starting to see what has been going on. Just a few days ago a former SO member contacted me and told me she had just read the most recent St Pete Times article. She was shocked at the boldfaced, blatant lies spewed by Tommy Davis. As a former OSA and Snr HCO staff member she knew of MANY abortion cases, exactly how the women were pressured into them and how these were denied needed medical care. And she knew for a fact that Tom Davis was directly aware of at least one case. She was letting others know. Poor Tommy….I really don’t know how you can sleep at night. You are headed for a mental breakdown and you can’t even see it coming!

This whole thing is sort of like watching an episode of “Cops.” The bad guy is speeding away. Ten cop cars are in pursuit. But he won’t pull over. His tires get shredded. Sparks are flying.
And he won’t pull over.
He swerves off the road, smashes into cars, runs through stop lights barely missing cross traffic.
But he won’t pull over.
His passengers are opening their doors and bailing out, one after another; stumbling, cartwheeling and falling. And the car just keeps rolling, sparks flying, weaving back and forth.
Then the gas runs out. Or the cops pull a PIT maneuver to make the car spin out of control.
Finally he stops and the cops yank the idiot out of the vehicle. You know they want to beat the crap out of him, but the cameras….
I wonder what DM will look like at the defendant’s table. Will the lawyers advise him to wear his $500 shirts and multi-thousand dollar suits so he’ll look good for the jury hearing the case on inurement? Or will they put him in a suit from JC Penny’s to portray him as a common man just trying to do his job.
And how will he explain all those cars and trips and expensive meals to the IRS when they are finally forced to act?
What kind of religious expense is all the high-dollar booze? Tommy will indignantly explain, “Well, the Catholics use wine for communion, but we’ve come to believe that fine Scotch is much more spiritual.”
“Was that a pun?” asks the reporter.
“Pun?” Tommy frowns, clearly puzzled.
“Yeah, you know, ‘more spiritual.’ Scotch has a higher alcoholic content. You know.”
Tommy explodes. “Look you fuck heads! How dare you attack my church! How dare you question our beliefs!” Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
ROFL!
As metaphors go, this one if pretty amazing. It is pretty inevitable, isn’t it.

It is impossible to not reap what you sow. The only reason people don’t get that, is because sometimes the fruit of what you sowed takes a LONG time to come to light. But, it will.
Takes to the internet, to these blogs, to those who openly have stepped forward and the others who contribute to the blogs and spread the word about the evil empire of dm — there is more sunshine on the fields, formerly kept in the shadows and dark and thus what might have taken even longer — is starting to bear fruit.
In the Dharmmapada (the sayings of the Buddha) there is a chapter called The Dark:
“One man denies the truth.
Another denies his own actions.
Both go into the dark
And in the next world suffer
For they offend the truth.
…
If you are reckless,
Better to swallow molten iron
Than eat at the table of good folk.

You go against the law,
You go into the dark.
Your pleasures end in fear
And the king’s punishment is harsh.
There is a chance for those currently supporting dm, to renounce him by blowing. And if that isn’t possible:
“It is better to do nothing
Than to do what is wrong.
For whatever you do, you do to yourself.” (part of the same chapter on The Dark)
for dm, there is little hope for he cannot see what is. And not seeing what is. He cannot face that he is evil.
If he could — there would be a road back. Long but a road back.

What a simple and powerful concept. That line stopped me in my tracks and then my mind started racing, making connections to the Dynamics, the Golden Rule, Overt-Motivator Sequence, Karma, Cause and Effect, etc.
Perhaps Ghandi’s “Be the change you want to se in the world” and Krishnamurti’s “The means are the end” are also extensions of this idea. Anyway, it certainly got me thinking. Windhorse, thanks for the spark.
The mentality you describe is medieval. I mean that literally. Just the way he bandies the ‘word” apostate around; I mean who uses that word anymore unless they are being ironic? Not even the catholic church invokes it to respond to disaffected/lapsed members. Also, I can’t think of a single “real world” organization on the planet that would actually claim that no untoward behavior had EVER occurred within it, rather the PR would focus on illustrating preventative/curative steps taken when it does occur.
As a side note, I often find myself wondering what on earth Anne Archer must think of her son, when she sees him stuttering and stammering and spinning and lying on her television set.

There are “real world” examples of such denial. Think of “Bagdad Bob”, Saddam Hussein ‘s Minister of Information who would go on the air with the most ridiculous stories of the Iraqi army turning back the invading Americans and “barbequeing their stomachs”, etc. while the rest of the world watched the American tanks racing across the desert unimpeded.
Then there’s Ahmadinejad, president of Iran, who claimed there are no gay people in Iran.
Only the most isolated, disassociated regimes make such out of touch claims, ie, the C of S.

Many promised EPs of Grade Chart results are completely utterly false.
For NOT achieving such results, the Church wants MORE and MORE and MORE $$$$. A Dianetics completion is supposed to be a HAPPY and HEALTHY human being. On the contrary, 8 levels higher Scientologists have a plethora of illnessess, cancer, heart conditions, just like the general population. THE LIE is the $$$$$ paid for auditing would increase health.

The Ls promise all kinds of fancy results. On any visit to Flag, I have never met so many introverted, bankrupt, divorce-in-progress, accident-prone public as those showing up for REPAIR after REPAIR after REPAIR for the Ls.

ABORTIONS have been enforced for almost as long as DM has been the tyrannical ruler with total control over SO member’s lives.

The books of LRH elaborate in great detail the Lock, the Secondary and the Engram and the traumatic spiritual aspects these have on the being.
David Miscavige has a herd of imprisoned, cowering, manipulated SO members have, every second of their lives ~ A Lock, a Secondary or an Engram enforced on them with no power of choice. This is 180 degree opposite of what the books say and this is hypocritical.

One thing to understand is, that a major obstacle in the way of planetary clearing and a pet target of DMs rage were the so called “worker oriented” execs that allowed their staff to go home and sleep as early as 3 a.m. or allowed them to go on “medical lines” when sick, eat at meal times and other deviations from the hard line of those a few execs who had salvaging this sector of the universe really at heart, namely DM. So DM cancelled ISO as such. Thereby sickness at the Base was terminatedly handled. At that point the only reason why you would not come in to post would be that your legs broke to splinters and could not sit up in a wheelchair. Or something similar.
In these much more disciplined times of no more sickness a girl sitting next to me in the office arrived one morning looking all broken. Her face was grey and she could hardly move around. I found out that she did something with her arm, tore a ligament or twisted it, had no idea, but was in awful pain. It was so bad that for at least a week she could never sleep at night. But she kept coming to post and would not dare say that she needed to go home and rest. I asked her more than once is she could maybe go and ask for help at the MLOs, each time she refused, said there was no ISO anyway, and she would only manage to get into more trouble for trying to f* off. She did not even protest when she was sent to go run laps around the block with all the rest of the department – didn’t even know who offended and in what way that this penalty was meted out but did it anyway, even though she could only limp around.
But obviously the process was biting all right: a lot less people dared to get sick, so this was one more obstacle that DM single handedly cleared out of the way of planetary clearing.

How Tommy thinks he can say one day that there was in fact abuse in the SO (no matter who he says is “responsible”) and the next claim that no SO member has ever even been harassed, and honestly expect anyone to believe him, I do not know. I have some ideas – none of them complimentary – but it’s ridiculous.

I am trying to understand your comment. You said staff prefer to live at the OGH because they could have possessions at the OGH, then you said staff at the Int base can’t have any possessions. This doesn’t make sense. The OGH is AT the int base.
So…I guess you are suggesting that you have some source still at the int base. I don’t care and certainly don’t want to put anyone in danger. Just trying to understand this latest development and I’ve only heard this from you so far.

In earlier times, assignment to OGH at LEAST allowed one to take one’s MEST.
As personal MEST is no longer permitted, the “good ole times” of OGH imprisonment at Int Base is considered BETTER than total lock down and imprisonment with ZERO possessions.
Next Friday I am taking off for a three week buddhist program in Northern Colorado. Part of the tradition is to give a teacher’s gift. An amount purely of ones own choosing.
My teacher will be there as well as 2 senior teachers. I received an email suggesting a $100.00 teacher’s gift. Since there are, in essence, going to be 3 teachers, I wondered if this meant a suggestion of $300.00?
The answer I received was: “No – the $100.00 suggestion is only for the Sakyong (head of this particular buddhist lineage) … what you give his senior teachers is completely up to you – as well as the Sakyong’s gift.
Remember when being generous with a gift — stretch but do not break.”
WOW — how opposite to the “Church” of dmology — not only break yourself, your reserves you are expected, forced and threatened to go DEEPLY into debt.

“Letter of the law liars” is what Tommy Davis and David Miscavige are, and likely their lawyers know they are lying also, at this point.

Getting even your story into print, by Portland Mercury, is not an overnight process.
Getting coverage by media without police filing charges for alleged Scientology’s human abuse, means making allies in the camps of scholars, writers, media, and overwhelming numbers of ex members coming forwards.
People listening to this thread, especially those knowing specifics, PLEASE step up and reach OUT to media.
I’ve been methodically reaching out for years. It ain’t gonna happen without a LOT of reaching out, and continued reaching out, and communicating.
Originate, those of you who want to get the media to cover things!
There’s probably a WHOLE huge amount of ex HGB staffers who could do their OWN group discussion and cross covering each other’s stories about HGB Sea Org staff abuse, and even up to present time abuses there at the HGB.
LA Weekly magazine type reporters are out there, willing to take on an “HGB: Abuse at Middle Management Scientologyland” story.

You are correct. There is a lot more that can be done.
Physical Abuse: Instead of individual lawsuits. Find a big law firm and do a Class Action.
Forced Abortions: Find a large Woman’s Rights Group and get them on board. There are many pro-life groups that will be on board out there.
Senior Abuse: Call and have the base visited to check on the Elderly.
Child Labor Abuses: Try to get a story to Fox News, Bill O’Really gets really hot on Child and Teenager Abuse (whether you like him or not, he will investigate this type of abuse).
DO YOU NOT SEE A STUCK FLOW HERE?
It seems to me you may be talking into a dead phone. You need enough people in the specific groups above to make noise and have a big plan. It needs to be planned out beginning with an Admin Scale.
I think you may find a lot of covert back off from people who have participated in the above abuses because some of this stuff if against the law and some may have to face criminal charges, if exposed. There are penalties for breaking the law whether you are “forced to commit a crime” or not.
Sorry I can’t help since my input is only here say from what I have read.
The only advise is to try to get people who have been the “victims only” and not the people who have been the” abusers and victims”. Let the abusers hind behind their “new viewpoints”. These people don’t interest me nor do they deserve my trust.
This will never handle if all the truth doesn’t comes out. If there are those who want to hind their crimes who are now “out” and everyone goes into agreement with them, then we might as well go back into the church and be in the same boat we were in before. We live in a society of justice for the victims of crimes and there are some crimes that require penalties. A victim should be able to outflow what was in-flowed to them to remain sane.
Let the abuser’s take their chances with the law and let the victims have their justice.

In Jeff and Amy’s and a few other’s cases, they could easily GO ONTO OPRAH’s show, for instance, and one scholar helped Amy and Jeff on a radio show, for instance, is the type of allies that a few scholars who care, will use their connections to get the words of people like Jeff and Amy, to be further heard.
Jeff and Amy and Marc Headley, could just really turn America’s head, were they to be on Oprah for instance, though.
And it starts with local media picking up the stories, like Jeff’s story being finally picked up by Portland Mercury, after Jeff first did college radio and a blogtalk radio show, and then St. Pete Times.
Us coming out of Scientology after a couple decades have to also sort of start from scratch on even who to turn to.
Scientologists, not unless OSA PR trained, don’t have a damn clue about other interest group joining and so forth.
I bumbled into a an anti cult conference and without some reading on how those groups think and speak, it can be a stumbly experience.
I think like Amy and Jeff are doing, and Marc Headley is the easiest.
Allying with the anti cult groups, or religious groups or allies, is one way but could lead to limited audiences.
I think general media has a broader effect, like Marty and the others did, like on CNN with Anderson Cooper and with the BBC like others did the last couple years.
I’ve been more just mainstream media focused.
It’s a tad bit of work itself, developing the info feeding “hat” to media, enough so they call you and ask you if anything new comes up.
With Marty’s site providing person by person, although possibly Marty’s blog might limit who lands there, I think Marty’s tolerant of harsher ex members who want NOTHING to do with LRH and Scientology, which I’m glad.

I played more the gobetween, introducer role the last 6 years, and now there is an array of ex members who are public news sources, Marty being probably the freshest raw news providing source.

First of all I have to tell you I am not anti-LRH and I defend the Tech. With that said, DM and others aren’t practicing Scientology and the laws of the land that they are breaking needs to be handled with our justice system.
This is the problems I see with handling all the situations I am reading about on the internet and Jeff or anyone else with advertising experience can correct me, as my experience with this is limited.
First: There is just too much going on for a person to take in. It becomes confusing, especially to the main stream or a public. The attacks on Scientology or LRH ,in general, is very old news and a lot of people are just not interested in old news.. My friends, family and employees are not Scientologist so I may have a better viewpoint on this than others who’s relationships are mostly Scientologist or ex-Scientologist.
The subject of Scientology and the viewpoint of a lot of people is, will, if they were stupid enough to join a cult, that is what happens in cults.
So, who has a FRESH, NEW way to get the public’s attention?
I am guessing that survey’s need to be done to find the right buttons in the year 2010. What buttons would get about 60-70 percent of the people’s interest?
What I do know is the abortion situation is a 50/ 50 situation in the USA. There are family and pro-life groups that can be contacted to see if they want to take this on, but remember, abortion is not against the law, it is a moral issue and half the people would not have an interest. But still 50 percent is not bad and forced abortions could get a higher percentage of people interested. It is the interest and the protest that gets you on a show like Oprah.
What is going on in Scientology “today” may get some interest in the media, but you are fighting a corporation with a lot of money and lawyers. So what is the buttons that would turn someone’s interest to the cause of bringing a criminal like DM and his forces to justice? Ponzi schemes
Child abuses
Large Governments
Corporation Exec’s ripping off investor’s
Economy, etc.
My option, get off the anti-Scientology, anti-LRH and Cult old news and stay away from it, most people don’t care anymore. Find the buttons and stay the course. You can have more than one group on different topics, but each group needs to stay their own course until something sticks. Jeff knows the policies on this, he made Dianetics big and booming for years.
Selling a book is the same as selling anything, you need to find the right buttons and use them. News moves in and out fast in the world today, you have to find something that is going to keep the people’s interest going.
This is my opinion from living and being involved in the world in the year 2010. Things are moving fast because of technology and people’s interests needs to be held to the stories you are telling.

Since DM, Tommy, et al. refuse to own up and get egg on their faces for past deception, the only option is to continue to repeat the same mindless pablum. They have turned into the robots they have sought to create.
