Congratulations to Amy on the publication of her new book, Abuse at the Top. A bunch of us gathered to celebrate the occasion, some of whom are pictured above. A great group. Some are still flying under the radar and chose not to have their picture on the internet! It’s a great book – if you don’t have a copy yet, you can order it here.
May 9 – wasn’t that also some other special occasion? Trying to remember…oh yes, Mothers Day! Happy Mothers Day everyone.

Congratulations Amy! I ordered the book long ago and can’t wait reading it!
And just to quote Mr. Obama from last year: Mother’s Day might be a tough holiday for Mr. Miscavige since he is not used to say the word “day” after “mother”.

I read Amy’s book and it portrays life in the church in a way that was deeply disturbing for reasons I could not identify at first.
What hit me so hard was the fact that Amy was so damned hopeful that something good would come out of the abuse she was enduring. She and many other Sea Org members took the abuse and insanity in stride and continued to work their hearts out for an organization that cared nothing for them or for their loyalty.
I think she has captured the betrayal of trust that is part and parcel of today’s church of scientology.
I hope her message reaches those in the cult who are still compromising their Code of Honor.

My thanks to the host and hostess for opening their warm home to all of us. I haven’t felt so relaxed and as much a part of a group since “the old-days”.

Allow this to be the first blog I post this to. I have been posting to this blog and to Marty’s blog as “Elizabeth”. This week I officially resigned from the Church of Scientology. My name is Sindy Fagen. I have been a member of the church for almost 25 years. The process of resigning was not an easy one and I would not have made it without Amy and Jeff. Many helped get me and my husband through our awakening but actually speaking with Amy over the phone, where she so graciously answered my questions, acted as a beacon of light and love in the hellish nightmare we were experiencing as we woke up to the horrors of our “church”.

Congratulations Elizabeth! The road through the “awakening” is quite a ride. At least it was for me & still is. Hard to believe (confront) all that has/is going on at the upper levels of Management. It explains though for me a lot of the outpoints I had been seeing at the local level. Enjoy your new Freedom!

Fabulous party it was! Amy at the top of her game is a joy. She simply beams. The host and hostess went over and beyond…such gracious people. And what a group! I read Amy’s entire book the day I got it in the mail. What a frustrating, maddening, angering saga. My hat’s off to all of you ex-SO and ex-staff members who tried to give so much. Your hearts were in the right place.
Hi Amy…. received your book last week before the May 9th debut…. signed copy…. and already finished reading it! Thanks for being so prompt and thanks for baring your soul for the benefit of all in their own way observing and showering light upon the CofM’s darkness. You are one tough Mama and I see nothing that’s backing you (and Matt…. what a great love story of getting, plotting and staying together) off one bit! I’m happy for your family getting sorted out and coming around as well.
The air we breath is rarified some more with the likes of you and all those that your story has helped and touched. And not a bad self-published debut book, too!

There is something highly disturbing of “Leader” that treats his staff like that.
Even more disturbing that they are trapped behind Federal Prison type fences and barbed wire and cannot walk in and out.
Once you write a book, you become an “authority” and media seek you out to give opinions on incidents as they roll out in present time.
I have found you and Jeff to be extremely eloquent and articulate and personable.
Unlike the lunging attacks of Tommy D and Jenny de Vocht and loony Norman Starkey.

It’s clear to me after reading your story that the mind of the church, its management, has become as insane as the mind of the madman who runs it.
Whatever it was in you that enabled you see the insanity for what it is, I hope the others still inside find that within themselves. I think it’s inevitable that others will follow your example.
I can see that after what you endured inside the church for so many years, you have been tempered to a steely strength. Seems unlikely that anything dm could throw at you now would hurt you. Actually, you and the other whistleblowers are his worst nightmare, aren’t you? You are able, high-dynamic individuals who survived his worst efforts to cave them in, and who were made more determined by their experiences are now on the outside, thriving, happy, with the attention of society,and completely unafraid to speak out and shine that light back on dm’s crimes.
